Slackwater Harbor

The Slackwater Harbor at Little Rock is an inland channel from the Arkansas River and provides direct river access. It is 4500 feet long, 15 feet deep, 320 feet wide, and has no current. It provides an enormous capacity for export development. The adjacent industrial property is zoned I-3.

The Harbor has a 190 foot dock and a one barge berth facility. The Harbor allows two barges two deep on both sides of the Harbor, and a turning basin so that the barges have easy access back into the river. The lack of current provides a safe Harbor against any current the river might be experiencing.

The Slackwater Harbor provides services for those cargoes which are damaging to highway transportation but are ideal for rail and barge. It has the capacity for sustained efficient service to these heavy industries.
